On May 11, a miracle occurred. Nine young women with schedules so full of school, work, service, family, and friends, were all able to meet at Angela’s Villa to celebrate an abundance of change! Birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries were all in need of celebration.
We gathered for dinner and prayer. We shared future plans and traded all the recent personal news. We went Live on Facebook for the very first time, and of course, had a mini photo-shoot in commemoration of the day all of our schedules finally seemed to cooperate with one another.
Our very own Stephanie was celebrating her birthday that day, so it was a treat to be with her! Stephanie’s gracious heart is a sweet presence at Angela’s. She is known for her cooking, humor, and solution for what seems like everything. Whenever there is a problem or question, she always helps with a smile-- we are so grateful for her!
Kristen, Emily and I graduated from college this spring semester, and Jenne and Kate had just graduated in December. These young women are some of the most dedicated, passionate, hard working ones I know! It is the greatest gift to see all of them going on to do what they love and be successful at it too. Their happiness is visible in all that they do.
Most importantly, we gathered on this day to celebrate the first anniversary of Angela’s Villa. The old adage declares, “Time flies when you’re having fun,” but it is so true. This past year at Angela’s has been a gift. The times we gathered around the table to share a meal, laughed over ridiculous inside jokes, and shared our faith through stories and prayer made this first year unforgettable. We are already planning dinners, brunches, movie nights, and faith sharing gatherings for the upcoming year in hopes to make new memories and watch our group grow.
This is a new season at Angela’s Villa. It is a season of bittersweet endings and beautiful beginnings. It is a season of change.
