2017 has brought renewed energy to Angela’s Villa.
On Sunday the 15th, I got together here with a group of eight young women. They found their way to our community at Angela’s Villa in a variety of ways. After enjoying brunch together, each person shared how she was first introduced to the group.
The common thread was through some form of service to others, especially children. A few were part of our Summer Service Learning Program, one was a student of our communication director, Michele Gatts, who’s also a part-time instructor at Youngstown State University, and another was referred by Dr. Linda Miller, a teacher at Ursuline High School and one of our Ursuline Associates.
The group collaborated on new ideas for 2017, which include:
- Sunday brunches at 12 p.m. instead of 10:30 a.m.
- Seasonal Birthday Celebrations
- “Taco Tuesday” Lunches
The atmosphere of acceptance, support and energy was wonderful, and provides a great start for the New Year.
