As I enjoy the many windows at Angela’s Villa, I’m often reminded of Mary Oliver’s poem “When I Am Among the Trees.” Even more now as the leaves change colors.
Joyce Rupp writes of the vulnerability of the falling leaves and reminds us of the necessity of embracing our “daily dyings” in order to arrive at new growth.
On October 18, three of us shared our faith as we applied this message to each of our own life journeys. Our next
faith-sharing will be November 3 at 6:30 p.m.
We continue to meet at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings for brunch and reflection.
Mark your calendars for a Thanksgiving celebration Sunday, November 20.
Let us pray for each other for the grace to be open to the challenges and gifts of autumn:
Jesus, Master of the seasons of the heart, take the dread of winter in me and transform it into joy and trust.
Help me to know that every season has its own reason to exist and that each season brings its own set of blessings.
Grant me the grace of vulnerability so that I can surrender my heart to You and love as You loved.
Walk with me when I want to run away from the negatives of life instead of desiring to grow through them.
Amen.
