Recently we sent forth one of our own on the next step of her life’s journey. Jenne has volunteered with us for several years and was a member of the first core group for Angela’s Villa, helping prepare the house and celebrate momentous occasions.
She takes her strong faith and her desire to serve those most in need with her.
Jenne will be teaching in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina as part of Teach For America for the next two years. She just left for a seven week summer program where she’ll work with children and engage in training. During the two-year experience, Jenne will be able to work towards a Master’s degree.
We all will miss her greatly, but perhaps nobody as much as Kimberly, age 9. Jenne was Kimberly’s tutor for two years for the after-school program at Potter’s Wheel. Jenne has become Kimberly’s mentor, friend and much more.
Despite her need to extend goodbyes and pack, Jenne took some time to enjoy an early morning walk with me on the Mill Creek Metroparks Trail in Boardman last week. She will keep in touch and visit when she can.
We are grateful for all of Jenne’s service with our ministries, wish her well, and look forward to seeing her again!
